CaptureForm
CaptureForm allows you to create variables dynamically by querying or modifying data from a data source. There are two types of CaptureForms: CaptureForm Query, which allows you to query data from the database, and CaptureForm Expression, which allows you to use functions to format or modify your variables (ex: an offset field in a MapForm). You can use fields that you have mapped using MapForm in the SQL statements or expressions you create.
- Creating a CaptureForm - A CaptureForm is created as a child of a Print Parameter. From the Process Tree, select the print parameter for which you would like to create a CaptureForm. On the Edit menu, go to New and then click CaptureForm. Only one CaptureForm can be added to a print parameter; however, unlimited queries, expressions, or variables can be created within each CaptureForm component.
- Using CaptureForm - The CaptureForm object contains a Variable Storage area where you can create variables to use in your CaptureForm queries or expressions. The CaptureForm also contains all of the queries or expressions relating to this template.
- Creating a Query or Expression - By default, four folders are created as a child of the CaptureForm object (Pre, Page, Post, Test). These folders will determine when/if a CaptureForm query or expression will run. To create a query or expression, right click on the desired folder, select New, and then Query or Expression.
- Deleting a CaptureForm - In the Process Tree, select the CaptureForm to be deleted and click the delete button on the toolbar. All of the queries, expressions, or variables belonging to this CaptureForm will also be deleted.
If you have an Ellucian Ethos environment, you can reach your data through an Ethos connection by setting up a REST Connector from MAPS config.
